How it works

General modality notes — not a diagnosis and not a guarantee from this page.

General / known protocol: the Fire & Ice Facial widely associated with iS Clinical is a two-masque professional treatment. A warming intensive resurfacing masque (typically AHA acids plus botanicals) is followed by a cooling hydrating masque (hyaluronic acid, aloe, soothing extracts). It is meant to resurface more than a plain facial, with little residual peeling compared with a medium chemical peel. This describes the known industry protocol; Elena’s site does not name a device or brand for her Fire & Ice

Visit notes

No session minutes stated. Aftercare: skin could appear a little flushed; "This should stop within four to six hours."

Brand protocol: little to no downtime; possible flush for several hours. Not a substitute for a medium-depth peel. Pregnancy or isotretinoin use should be disclosed in consult — not decided in chat

"Suitable for all skin types and ages." Dedicated page: also "can also help clear acne and improve acne scarring as part of a treatment program." Site asks you to wait 48 hours after waxing or laser; avoid vitamin A, glycolic acid, or other resurfacing ingredients three days before; notify clinic if taking drugs such as Roaccutane; tell practitioner if medical condition changes or if you become pregnant

What do they say about it?

Experience the Hollywood-approved “Fire & Ice Facial” also known as “The Red Carpet Treatment” at our spa. This intensive clinical facial combines a tingling heat chemical peel with a soothing mask for ultimate skin resurfacing. Say goodbye to fine lines and wrinkles as your skin is smoothed, softened, and rejuvenated. Not just for celebrities like Halle Barry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Keegan, this facial is suitable for all skin types and ages. In addition to improving the complexion, the Fire & Ice Facial can also help clear acne and improve acne scarring as a part of a treatment program.

What to do prior to treatment?

Preparation before treatment is a crucial step in the process to make sure you get the best outcomes possible.

  • Use our suggested skincare routine to get skin ready.
  • Prior to treatment, wait 48 hours before waxing or using laser.
  • You are encouraged to avoid using any products containing vitamin A, glycolic acid, or any other resurfacing ingredients three days before your appointment if they are a part of your skin care routine.
  • Please give the clinic advance notice if you are taking any drugs. Taking specific prescription drugs (like Roaccutane) could prevent you from receiving treatment.
  • If your medical condition changes or if you become pregnant, kindly let your practitioner know.
What happens during the treatment?

When the “Fire” masque is applied to the skin and when it is removed, it is common to experience sensations of warmth and tingling. A revitalizing ‘Ice’ masque will almost completely soothe the skin.

What to expect after the treatment?

The Fire & Ice Facial is a procedure that requires no downtime. There shouldn't be any shedding, persistent redness, irritation, or inflammation, so to speak. However, the skin could appear a little flushed in the hours just after the procedure. This should stop within four to six hours.
